After spending more than a decade in recruitment, I found myself frustrated. Too often, the industry feels like a numbers game - candidates reduced to CVs, clients treated as targets, and the human side of hiring lost somewhere in between. I knew there had to be a better way - one that actually put people first.

At the same time, I wanted something else: balance. Like many working parents, I felt the constant tug between a demanding career and wanting to be present for my kids. Recruitment can be all-consuming, and I didn’t want to miss those little moments that matter most. I wanted a career that allowed me to do both—make an impact professionally and be there for my family.

That’s why I started Vam Thomas Talent. My goal was simple: create a recruitment consultancy that’s truly people-centric. Every search I take on is tailored, thoughtful, and focused on building real connections. It’s not about hitting numbers—it’s about understanding people, their goals, and how to bring the right talent together with the right opportunities.

I work closely with companies to understand their culture, their ambitions, and the kind of people who will thrive there. And I partner with candidates to help them find roles where they can grow, feel valued, and make a real impact. It’s about creating matches that matter, not just filling roles quickly.

Starting my own consultancy has given me the freedom to define success on my terms. Success isn’t just placements or metrics—it’s creating meaningful outcomes for people while having the flexibility to enjoy life outside of work. I get to combine my experience, my network in the tech sector, and my passion for people-focused recruitment into something that feels authentic and impactful.

Vam Thomas Talent is my way of proving that recruitment doesn’t have to be impersonal or transactional. It can be human, thoughtful, and genuinely focused on the people at the heart of it—all while giving me the chance to be the parent I want to be.
